Judge Arlene Johnson was appointed to Court on February 18, 2005, by Governor Brad Henry to fill the unexpired term of Rita Strubhar. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with a Juris Doctorate in 1971. She practiced law with the Oklahoma City firm of Bulla and Horning, and subsequently served as judicial law clerk to the Court of Criminal Appeals. She later served as an Assistant District Attorney, and Assistant Attorney General, and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma for 21 years. She is recipient of the United States Attorney General’s John Marshall Award for Outstanding Legal Achievement and the FBI’s Commendation for Exceptional Service in the Public Interest. Judge Johnson also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
